Managing Director of SMART ENERGY
Rufus KPAN is Managing Director of Smart Energy, a subsidiary of the Eranove Group and the Compagnie Ivoirienne d’Électricité, specialising in energy efficiency and self-generation solutions for industrial and commercial customers. He joined the Group on 1 August 2024.
A general engineer with a degree from the Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB) and a Master’s in Management from ESCP Business School, he has over fifteen years of experience in the energy, mining and agro-industry sectors across West Africa.
He began his career at Louis Dreyfus Company as a Financial Controller before joining the mining sector in West Africa, where he successfully led a project to reorganise regional operations and supported the expansion of international companies in several sub-Saharan markets. He then joined Bboxx, first as Chief Financial Officer and then as Chief Executive Officer, where he structured innovative financing models to accelerate access to energy in rural areas of Senegal and Mali.
Today, under his leadership, Smart Energy supports industrial and commercial companies in optimising their energy performance and deploying solar self-generation solutions, using tailored financing mechanisms. The company is thus actively contributing to accelerating the energy transition and the sustainable competitiveness of African economies.
