The Abidjan International Business and Industry Forum (FICIA) took place last November, from Thursday 8th to Saturday 10th. There were several stands run by professionals from the industrial sector. The Ivory Coast Electricity Company (CIE) took advantage of the event to get closer to their customer base.

“A United Africa”. This was the theme of the second FICIA, which ended last Saturday in Abidjan, the economic capital of the Ivory Coast. According to Gérard Amangoua, the president of the event’s scientific committee, the theme was chosen in response to the organisers’ desire to promote innovative solutions for collaborative development across the African continent.

Several major companies participated in this exhibition. The Ivory Coast Electricity Company (CIE), a leader in its field in Africa, had a stand. The company wanted to highlight their competitive edge, demonstrating their policies of energy efficiency, and the creation of Smart Energy.

“Smart Energy is a subsidiary of the Ivory Coast Electricity Company. We specialise in energy efficiency, energy quality and energy from renewable sources. We support companies in the buildings sector and in industry to manage and optimise their energy consumption. We also provide technical solutions to allow companies to reduce their energy consumption. Smart Energy is designed for professional companies and, since the launch of this initiative, it has already had lots of customers. At the moment, the feedback is overwhelmingly positive” Edmond Brou, the marketing manager for Smart Energy, told Poleafrique.info.

The energy sector in Africa has a lot of opportunities to offer. The Ivory Coast Electricity Company explores all the new solutions in order to satisfy their customer base. Their customers are demanding and do not hesitate to offer criticism if they are dissatisfied. At the forum, the CIE stand had many visitors, all of whom wanted to understand how the company works and, more importantly, to find out about the new solutions that they offer in order to guarantee a quality service.

CIE also attended the Abidjan Infrastructures Exhibition (SIA) on airport road, but they have not ignored the FICIA either. A presence on all fronts shows their desire to be a vital company in the electricity sector in Africa. CIE really wants to continue to get closer to their customer base and change all their preconceived notions about the company, through transparency and innovation.
