CIPREL – Inauguration ceremony for the sixth gas turbine and the laying of the first stone of the steam turbine

 On January 24, 2014, the Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire Mr. Daniel Kablan Duncan inaugurated the sixth gas turbine (111 MW) of the power plant. Also, Mr. Kablan Duncan laid the foundation stone of a steam turbine of (111 MW) have started.

CIPREL, a subsidiary of eranove Group, incorporated in 1994, was the first Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Sub-Saharan Africa. Today CIPREL is the leading electricity producer of Côte d’Ivoire with 442 MW installed capacity.CIPREL increases its installed capacity

Finagestion Group and its shareholder ECP (Emerging Capital Partner), a leading private equity Fund manager in Africa, engaged in the funding of this CFA 225 billion (EUR 343 million) project CIPREL IV.

Following the commissioning of the steam turbine, CIPREL will reach 543 MW installed capacity by the end of 2015.CIPREL IV: positive impacts on the power sector of West Africa and Côte d’Ivoire;

 

CIPREL IV contributes to secure the power supply for the region and supports the economic growth of Côte d’Ivoire.

Additionally, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Oil and Power of Côte d’Ivoire, have expressed the government’s strong support for the project which will transform the energy sector of Côte d’Ivoire into a regional hub. This transformation reflects the vision of Côte d’Ivoire’s President, Mr Alassane Ouattara. “CIPREL, a civil, modern and dynamic company”
